Alpine skiing certification for NRM instructors. Three progressive certification levels, each building on core skills in ski performance, movement analysis, and teaching.

Employment at a PSIA-AASI Member School
Prep clinic recommended but not required
Assessment Modules

Teaching and People Skills (scored)
All three modules assessed over 2 days.
Must pass all three to certify.
Intermediate certification. Candidates must ski all green and blue terrain including bumps and un-groomed conditions, plus groomed moderate black terrain. Teaches adults and children through the Intermediate Zone.
Prerequisites
Alpine Level II certification
2 of 3 prep clinics within a 3-season window:
• Teaching/People Prep (2 days)
• Ski Performance Prep (2 days)
• MA/Tech Understanding Prep (2 days)
Note: Failed module retakes no longer require prep clinic repetition.

Three modules taken in any order.
Once a module is passed, it does not need to be retaken.
Must pass all three to certify.
Professional Knowledge Exam
Online Professional Knowledge Exam required (score ≥83%). Must be completed before on-snow assessment.
Advanced certification. Candidates must ski all green, blue, and black terrain (double black where available) in most conditions. Teaches adults and children through the Advanced Zone (level 9 skiers). The pinnacle of NRM alpine certification.
